Hilo Hawaii began the island visitations.  We went on our first tour, which was a rather vigorous Mountain Bike ride.  We covered over 9 miles around the Kilauea Volcano Crater.  I swore I'd never be caught dead in one of these funny helmet, but I guess one should never say never...

If you look carefully, you'll see the people walking THROUGH the crater, and by some of the steaming vents.

In addition to the volcanic landscapes, there was an area of rainforests, and lava tubes left by prior activity.
